Let's get CONNECTED!!!
How did Notre Maison Connects come about?
I am a high school counselor. I absolutely LOVE my job! August 2017, I really wanted to visit my friends in France. One was getting married and I was so excited to attend. Unfortunately, it was too close to the beginning of the school year and several counselors had been “released” so I didn’t feel comfortable taking off the first few days of school. More importantly, my role as a school counselor is critical in assisting students with developing a solid plan of success during and post their high school experience. Therefore, I had to be present to prepare for my new students arrival the first week of school.
My eldest daughter had to work. My youngest daughter knew I was upset so she took me to St. Thomas instead of France. Bless her heart. From the time we arrived to the time we were almost stranded due to the hurricanes, nearly everyone we encountered was genuinely humble, pleasant, welcoming, helpful and happy to engage with us and talk about their beautiful and modest home, St. Thomas. We are still in contact with several of the friends we made during the week we were there, hence our “CONNECTION” to St. Thomas. My desire is to give back some of the happiness they shared with us during our visit.
